How Much Are Your Employee Feelings Worth?

Following a consultation in 2017, the Presidents of the English, Welsh and Scottish Tribunal Boards have increased the bandings (Vento Bands) to the following since 6th April 2018:

  • £900 to £8,600 for lower band cases (for less serious or one-off incidents);
  • £8,600 to £25,700 for middle band cases (for those not justifying the higher band); and
  • £25,700 to £42,900 for higher band cases (for the most serious cases).

Awards can be made in excess of the £42,900 in exceptional cases.

Employers need to take note of the above increases (£33,000 in 2017) as it could lead to an increase in claims for disgruntled employees.
